HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Playing another game within Empire State borders this week, Fordham University Softball will make a trip to Long Island Wednesday for a single game with Hofstra at 4:00 p.m. with the game available to stream live through FloSports.

Top of the Order

  • Led by a quartet of Rams hitting over .300 this season, Fordham (23-22-1, 13-7 A-10) is coming off back to back series wins in conference play, sweeping Saint Joe's Wednesday at home before taking 2-of-3 on the road at St. Bonaventure this past weekend..

  • Fordham enters the midweek red hot, winning 11 of its last 14 games, with 10 of those victories coming within A-10 play.

  • Continuing to climb the national charts, Fordham sits just third out of 296 Division I schools in doubles as a team with 85 on the year, needing 98 to break the single season program record.

  • The Rams are also second best in the A-10 with 0.57 home runs per game, and second in slugging percentage at .431 as a team, while holding an on bases percentage of .361, and third best in the league.

By The Numbers

  • Though often said as a cliche, "the team who scores first usually wins", and Fordham has proven that in 2024, holding a 19-6 record in games where the Rams have tallied the first run.

  • Scoring just over 65% of their runs in the first four innings of play, the Rams are currently 17-4 when leading after four, tallying 143 runs in the early portions of games.

  • A trio of Fordham hitters enter the weekend riding a six game hitting streak, including Michaela Carter, Nicki Sudall, and Eva Koratsis, with Koratsis leading the team, reaching base safely in each of her last nine games.

  • Taking advantage of their spots atop the order, Enoch leads the team with 14 multi-hit games, ahead of 13 by Nogay, and 12 by Wells, who leads the team with 13 games tallying multiple RBIs.

Ramily Rockstars

  • Leading the Rams are a pair of heavy hitters, capable of doing whatever it takes with the bat to keep their team in the fight. Bailey Enoch and Sydney Wells pace the team in nearly every offensive category, while putting up impressive numbers throughout the season.

  • With an even 50 hits in 2024, Bailey Enoch leads the Rams in hits and runs scored with 38, while drawing 20 walks, also the most of any Fordham player, entering the week with a slash line of .347/.625/.432.

  • One of the top hitters in the nation, Sydney Wells has launched a team-best 11 home runs on the year, while reading the team with 47 RBIs, nearly double the next best mark on the team, while slashing .322/.702/.430.

  • Wells also ranks as the A-10 leader in home runs, placing 73rd best in the nation, while sitting 24th in the country averaging 1.12 RBIs per game. She also ranks second in slugging percentage at .702, and third in the conference with 13 doubles on the year, placing her 62nd best in the nation.

  • A threat to hit, walk, and steal bases, there's no avoiding the quickness of Neleh Nogay, who leads the team with 19 stolen bases in 21 attempts, second best in the A-10, while also placing second on the team with a .333 batting average.

  • Nogay is also on fire at the dish in conference play, leading the Rams while hitting .456 in 20 A-10 games thus far, with 31 hits and 16 runs scored in those games, and going 19-for-21 on stolen base attempts.

  • Holding teams to just 5.77 hits per seven innings on average, Devon Miller has lit it up from the circle once again this season, placing third in the A-10 in that category, despite being second in the league in innings pitched at 131.0. She also places second in the conference with 106 strikeouts, ranking top-100 in Division I.

Digging for Two

  • All season long the Rams have raked when it comes to swinging for extra bases, and doubles in particular, as Fordham enters the week ranked third best out of 296 Division I schools in doubles, and fourth in the nation in doubles per game, averaging 1.85 per contest.

  • The Rams have already tallied the fourth most doubles of any team in program history, needing 90 to crack the top-three and 98 to break the all-time single season record of 97 set in 2008.

  • That stat hasn't come from one source, but a diversified group that sees the top four spots in the A-10 for total doubles each locked down by a Fordham Ram. Gianna Sarlo leads the team with 15 doubles, ranked 22nd best nationally, while Enoch sits second in the league and 33rd in the country with 14.

  • One back of them sits Wells with 13 doubles on the year, ranking 52nd in the country, while Eva Koratsis with 11 places fourth best in the A-10.

Weekend Recap

  • Taking a thrilling 8-6 win to start the afternoon in Upstate New York, Fordham split a pair of games at St. Bonaventure on Saturday.

  • A back and forth opener to this weekend's three game set saw Fordham and St. Bonaventure duel for nearly three hours, with the Rams taking an 8-6 win courtesy of a late rally that saw the visitors score five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead, as Olivia Simcoe picked up the win in the circle.

  • Scoring early and often Sunday afternoon, Fordham University softball claimed its second straight A-10 series win with a 17-1 victory at St. Bonaventure.

  • When it was all said and done, 11 different Rams would record a hit on the afternoon, as all nine starters and two pinch hitters notched a hit, part of 16 hits by the Rams as a team. In addition, nine different players drove in a run, and 10 different batters would come around to score a run, along with drawing eight walks from seven Rams.

Previewing the Pride

  • Entering the midweek at 15-23 on the year, Hosftra is looking to snap a three game losing streak, after dropping the final two games of a weekend series at Delaware, being shutout in both games.

  • The Pride are currently 12-9 in the CAA, led on offense by Becca Vaillancourt who has recorded 41 hits and 16 runs scored, while driving 19 RBIs and collecting 72 total bases. Vaillancourt holds a slash line of .345/.605/.392, with an OPS of .997.

Next Stop

  • Following the trip to Long Island, the Rams will return home for senior weekend at Bahoshy Field, hosting Saint Louis in the penultimate series of the regular season. The Rams will play a doubleheader with the Billikens Saturday at 12:00 p.m. with the senior day ceremony set to take place between games one and two.
